Food Lion Deals

Yesterday afternoon hubby and I went grocery shopping, yes on Easter Sunday (I had attended Sunrise Service at 6:00 am!)  Anywho, here are just a few deals that we got using coupons at Food Lion which is one of my favorite grocery stores.

AS SEEN ON TV – CERAMIC GREEN NON-STICK FRY PAN – PASS

Okay, so I broke down and purchased another “AS SEEN ON TV” product, the Ceramic Green Non-Stick Fry Pan from Target for $19.99.  My oldest son has been cooking scrambled eggs since he was in Junior High School, so I chose him to test the scramble.  Hubby thinks he is the pancake king so he tried it out on two large ones and I tested it on a fried egg.  Each passed with flying colors and the clean up was quick and easy, which in my book makes it definitely worth the price.

$19.99 purchased from Target

I seasoned it as per the instructions on the label

Image

Lightly oil the pan and heat until it just begins to smoke

Image

I wiped it out and then my son made his scrambled eggs – PERFECT – no oil, butter or grease used.

He loves cheese…lots of it!

Perfectly prepared non-sticking scrambled eggs with cheese

It flipped easily and slid out of the pan (I missed the shot)

Image

I am not an egg eater but I tested the pan on a fried egg

Image

It didn’t “swing around” the pan as advertised on tv, but it was definitely non-stick

Clean up was easy breezy!

Definitely worth the $19.99!

Carpet Sweeping with a Hair Brush

I have a basket full of old brushes and combs that I hate to throw away because as a child of the 60’s, we were taught to recycle and reuse everything.  Today I was doing a little Spring Cleaning and my worse chore is vacuuming the stairs. Although we remove our shoes in the laundry room the stairs are always dusty and quite noticeable to me everyday.

Lugging the Electrolux canister vacuum up and down and positioning it on the steps, hoping it doesn’t fall keeps me from using it every week. Today I used an old brush to sweep the stairs, eliminating the need to plug, lug and move the vacuum up and down and as an added benefit it was great exercise!
