Living the Journey
Poems of Love & Life by SuiteFranchon
Spending a beautiful Autumn evening with a glass of Pinot Grigio and a good book…can it get any better than that?
Yes it can!
Spending an evening with a glass of Pinot Grigio and listening to the author read excerpts from her book is much better.
That’s exactly what I and many others did last Thursday at the Delaware Children’s Art Museum on the Christina Riverfront in Wilmington. Suite Franchon, author of “Living the Journey” took us on a sensual journey of love and beauty via her poetry and by sharing some of her life’s intimate lessons.
The book launch was presented by Avery Group Public Relations and it was definitely a wonderful way to spend an evening with old and new friends.
Guitar accompaniment by the renowned musician Justin Graham only enhanced the ambiance of the event. However, the hors d’oeuvres, including cheese, fruit and wine was definitely a wonderful and welcomed feature.
The evening began with an introduction by Councilwoman Hanifa Shabazz after which SuiteFranchon made an elegant entrance via a spiral staircase to read various sections of her book, A Soulful Journey.
The audience was mesmerized not only by her soulful words but also by her honesty, integrity and ability to relate to almost everyone on some level with her own life’s experiences.
SuiteFranchon is a native Delawarean who has been entertaining audiences with her unique style of poetry for over a decade. She is a writer, director and executive producer of an organic and unique show call “Soul Opera”.
Sign up at her Fan Page and follow her Social Media networks to read more about this poet and performer who was featured at the 2015 Clifford Brown Jazz Festival.
The I Love My Selfie Photo Booth was an awesome way to capture the memories of the evening as well as providing everyone with an opportunity to share their experience on social media.
This delicious display of finger foods, cheese and fruits were provided by Walt’s Catering Services and the personalized “book cake” was an added sweet treat.
I read the book in it’s entirety and am now looking forward to hearing SuiteFranchon again at the next Peace Love & Poetry event being held at the World Cafe Live on December 10th at 7:00 p.m.
