Cancer Doesn’t Care | Small Intestinal Cancer
“I was a senior in High School when my father was diagnosed with cancer”
Most of us has read or at least heard this statement, or you may have even said it yourself, I just never thought my youngest son would be uttering these words…
Yes, my husband of 23 years was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer, actually, the cancer is located in his small intestine. Small intestinal cancer is an uncommon cancer that comprises about 1% to 2% of all gastrointestinal cancers. As you read this post, he and I are meeting with the physician who will be performing the surgery.
Ironically March is Colon Cancer Awareness month and although it is recommended you start having a colonoscopy at the age of 50, I ask that you consider beginning it earlier, especially if you have any symptoms. My husband never smoked, drank or ate “bad” foods, he stayed active and continues to workout on a regular basis but cancer doesn’t care!
He started having colonoscopies at the age of 45 and although he had many of the symptoms it was only recently diagnosed with a endoscopy. I trust and believe that the surgery will remove all of those cancerous polyps and ask that you pray for him and our family. I will keep you posted as more information is gathered.
Stay Blessed – No Stress in 2014!
Much love and prayers from my family to yours going your way. Stay positive, best of luck 😉 xoxo

That’s what scares me about cancer. It can attack anyone no matter how much you do your best to prevent it. It’s a total game changer and suddenly life will never be the same. Pull and gather strength from inside you, as well as your family and group of friends.
The best day of all would be when they finally find a cure for it. **Tight hugs**
Thank you my wonderful bloggy friend….I know in my heart of hearts that he do will do well and they will rid his body of all the cancerous cells – surgery is Wednesday – keep praying.

Thank you, it’s a scary thought but I know God will guide the hands of the surgeon to remove all the cancer!
oh my goodness, Antionette…I am so sorry to hear this. I’m very sorry that your husband has to go through this. It’s not an easy road, but having a supporting family is EVERYTHING and he’s lucky to have you and your 2 sons by his side. Praying for a quick recovery from surgery and a clean bill of health. And praying that one day cancer won’t be as common as it is today. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help. In a way, I understand what you’re going through. xoxo
Thank you sweetie, just pray, his surgery is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 am.
