Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
It’s going to be another cold weekend so I’m staying indoors to do some early Spring cleaning…yes, I’m even doing the boring chores. I don’t know about you, but I am super anxious for the warmer weather to get here so I can shed the layers and put away the snow shovel. Even though we have several more months before we get to that point, I wanted to at least get a jump start on it now.
I refuse to let the wintery winds of January stop me from thinking about or even shopping for the Spring season because now is the best time to do so. I recently signed up as an affiliate for Hannah Jane, a new online boutique with some great clothing and accessories at affordable prices. I found a few cute pieces on sale/clearance that I will be adding to my Spring wardrobe, take a look and let me know what you think.
I recently saw a fellow blogger in a classic white T-shirt, so I want to incorporate them into my wardrobe. This Yellow Bubble necklace would be a perfect accessory to jazz it up.
Fuchsia is such a fun Spring color and in jeans it will be great for a casual Friday outfit.
You know that I love all things Polka Dot and this top paired with a Houndstooth infinity scarf would be great to wear on an early chilly Spring morning or evening.
Or would it look better with the red scarf?
You definitely can’t go wrong with a White or Ivory button down blouse and I wish they had this skirt in stock!
I immediately feel in love with this striped comfy, casual knit dress. I could wear it with boots as shown or with pumps to work or even with ballet flats to run errands on the weekend. What do you think?
We do have a few months of cold weather ahead, so I’ll wear a turtleneck underneath this sweater.
AND… I finally found a pair of riding boots in my price range!
The great thing about shopping at Hannah Jane, other than the prices is that they offer FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $50, and a flat $4.99 rate for orders under $50.
If you get a chance, head over to their website and take advantage of the 20% off one item sale and if you sign up for the Newsletter you’ll get an additional discount off of your first order. #winning

Styles of the 60s
I was born in 1961, the decade known for free love, drugs, Go-Go Girls, Rock and Roll, The Vietnam War, Civil Rights, Hippies, the Birth Control Pill, The Peace Corp, Dr King, President Kennedy, assassinations, integration, Space Explorations, Cuban Missile Crisis, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, The Beverly Hillbillies, Afros, Crew Cuts, and of course the vibrant and colorful world of fashion.
The Past Is a Blast is a website that has culminated fun and interesting facts about the ’60’s, including popular music, dances, sports figures, politicians even the minimum wage, which at the time was just a $1.00, go check it out.
I was too young to fully understand it all but do remember that I loved the fashion and styles of the ’60’s, the bell bottoms, platform shoes, neon colors, color blocking and pattern mixing…hey, isn’t that the style of today?
To learn more or reminisce about the 60s, here’s another website you can check out – The 60’s Official Site
What is your favorite blast from the past fashion trend? Mine was bell bottoms and Peace Sign jewelry.
Remember this DIY jeans project?

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday, hope your day is going well.
Having Tuesday off from work has me a day behind mentally which may not be a bad thing because tomorrow is FRI-YAY!!!! It was somewhat depressing reading through the blogs last night, seeing all those beautiful and colorful maxi dresses and wishing for warmer days instead of dealing with these cold Winter winds. This morning we were greeted with snow showers…really Mother Nature – c’mon Spring!
In these pictures I may be smiling but I’m definitely not excited about these outfits, I want to shed the layers!
Sunday’s Suit
Suit – old closet staple // necklace – Jewelrymax.net // Mossimo Pumps via Target
Tuesday’s Wild Child
Boots & Purse – Avon // Jeggings – Kmart // Tunic Dress – Ross // Necklace – Jewelrymax.net // Belt – closet staple
Wednesday – 1st Day of Spring 2013
Cardigan – Ross or Marshalls // Skirt and Top – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Purse – Avon // Merona pumps via Target
Tired of This Weather Thursday
Sweater Vest – Marshalls // Gauchos – closet staple // Blouse – GW Boutique // Earrings – Icings // Bracelet – jewelry box
I had hoped that tomorrow the weather would be warmer but most likely it will be a “50’s Friday” Oh well, the temps will eventually increase but until then I will be wearing clothing from the winter wardrobe.
Have a fantabulous afternoon and don’t forget to check out the FB Page “Bloggers4JCPenney” – there are some great new postings.

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
Today’s outfit was inspired by an Instagram picture from Kela’s Kloset, a fashion blogger whom I admire and follow because of her great sense of style. She like myself has vowed to shop our closet for the month of March, me because gas is too damn high. I’m always checking the blogs for ideas and to get inspiration for refashioning items that I already own and this is today’s.
You know how much I love my sleeveless shift dresses, well instead of wearing a cardigan or blazer over it, I’m wearing a print top underneath.
From where do you get your outfit inspirations ~ Instagram or Pinterest?
.
Snow is in the forecast this afternoon starting at 4:00 pm, just in time for my evening commute so I chose to wear an old pair of boots and to accessorize with silver jewelry
Necklace – Jewelrymax.net // Rings and Hoops – jewelry box // Fedora – Burlington Coat Factory
I didn’t feel like changing my purse this morning so just wrapped a coordinating scarf around the handle
Raindrops were falling on my head
Today I am hopping with Glow Kouture and Transatlantic Blonde – come on over and meet a new blogger
Have a fantabulous afternoon – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy President’s Day 2013
Lucky lucky you if you are home today on holiday because “it’s as cold as a witches’ tit”! I remember that as being one of my mother’s favorite sayings during those cold New York winters. Do you remember any crude statements that your parents or grandparents liked to say way before it would be considered politically incorrect? (careful)
In honor of President’s Day I was going to wear Red with Blue and White Polka Dots but it’s just too cold. Instead I chose the warm and cozy flannel shirt that my son put in the “to be donated” box but never made it, a thrifted khaki skirt and knee high boots – it’s all about keeping warm! I like these boots because they can be worn full length showing the brass studs or folded over to reveal the leopard print – two styles in one for less than $20!
Flannel Shirt – son’s giveaway // Skirt – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Boots – Rugged Wearhouse // Watch – Avon // Rings, Earrings and Bracely – Jewelry Box // Belt –
I’ve added more pictures to my “As Seen Through My Car Window” page – check them out when you get a chance.

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay ~ Fri-Yay ~ Fri-Yay!!!
Wow where did the week go? Are you planning something fun and exciting for the weekend? I’m having my car serviced in the morning and then working on income taxes in the afternoon – Whoopie!!! I will be stopping by The Java House Cafe to discuss promoting a community event happening next week so that will make my Saturday more fun and exciting.
Today the weather is gorgeous and according to Punxsutawney Phil Spring is only 3 weeks away, however, I am not ready to break out the pastels or put away the boots. My casual Friday’s attire is still winter with jeans, a sweater, scarf, boots and silver jewelry accessories.

Hello Friends, I hope your week ended well and you are now home safe and sound. After work I stopped at Tar’Jay to make a return and of course took a detour to the shoe department. Winter is not yet over and the North East is being hit with a major snowstorm, however, retailers are busily stocking their shelves with Spring apparel.
Target is having a BUY 1 GET 1 50% OFF on their shoes and accessories and my tootsies were getting excited in anticipation of being free again. The details on Mossimo shoes are getting much better, check out some of the latest styles currently on display.
There were still a few clearance items on the shelves including boots which will be needed for at least another month. However, the Cap Toe heels and loafers were no longer available and most likely were shipped to Goodwill stores in the area. Target, being a good Corporate Citizen donates a lot of their unsold merchandise directly to Goodwill where even better deals can be had.
Enjoy the rest of your evening – Smooches!
