I remember the days when you could purchase clothing at Goodwill for 1 or 2 dollars. Of course back then, thrifing wasn’t as popular or considered a chosen alternative to department stores. There were always vintage boutiques where you expected to pay more, but never at Goodwill – not until now. Here are a few items that I found at Goodwill in Thorndale, PA which ranged in price from $3.50 to $5.00, this location also receives unsold shoes from Target which is a good deal.

This dress was one of three purchased in May 2009, to wear to my grandmother’s funeral – RIP Mama! Blue was her favorite color and I wanted to wear something blue but ended up wearing the traditional funeral black. It has been hanging in my closet ever since because it has a short cropped jacket and ribbon belt which makes it look very matronly. Today I decided to wear it but without the jacket and ribbon belt and it’s now one of my favorites.

Why is it that when you are on vacation you tend to buy things that you wouldn’t normally wear at home. That happened to me while in Florida a few years ago when I fell head over heels in love with these gold tone gladiator sandals. Now I can count on one hand just how many times I have actually worn them! It’s not like they are uncomfortable, they are just a bit too shiny for my taste. I have decided to wear them just one more time before they are packed with the rest of the Goodwill donations.

Yesterday I was so busy and exhausted after cleaning out the crawl space after a minor plumbing problem that I didn’t follow my Sunday evening routine. Normally on Sunday nights I prepare my outfits for the week, they are pulled, matched and hung neatly on the outside of my closet door. In the mornings I don’t have to worry about what I am going to wear or waste time trying to match shoes and accessories which for me is vital because I definitely am NOT a morning person. In addition to not having my outfits prepared, I had a restless night thinking about Malik going to an amusement park with his friends today. Can’t imagine why I am so anxious but I can now appreciate how my grandmother felt every time I left the house when I was in High School. I prayed that they have safe passage to and from the park and he did send a text that they had arrived safely.
Now on to today’s miss matched outfit which I didn’t notice until after viewing the pics – not one color in this shirt matches the pants!

- On the 1st Saturday of each month from April to November you can rent 3 parking spaces at Dutch Country Farmers Market for $15 to sell new and used items. You get a lot more traffic at the Farmers Market than you would in having an individual yard sale at home. My husband thinks I am a hoarder because I keep a lot of unused items in the house, which is true but I am definitely not like those as seen on tv or like some of the other vendors. I like buying at flea markets but LOVE making extra money selling at flea markets and for a few hours that is exactly what I did.
Despite the intense rains on Friday night, Saturday morning turned out to be a perfect day to buy and sell at Farmers Market – can’t wait until next month!

FRI-YAY ~ 1st DAY OF JUNE ~ END OF THE WORK WEEK!
It can’t get any better than that but I do hope that the rain holds off because tomorrow I plan on setting up a table at the Flea Market in Middletown. Over the past few weeks I have doing some serious purging around the house in hopes of making a few extra dollars, but anything that doesn’t sell will be donated to Goodwill!

I don’t remember where I purchased the bracelets and ring, but I bought the earrings from a shop in Rehoboth Beach back in the 80’s

When the work week begins with a holiday it seems like the rest of the week just flies by ~ I can’t believe it’s already Hump Day Wednesday.
This skirt was thrifted and I was attracted to it because of the graduated colors as well as the elephant and giraffe prints. I was going to wear it with a sleeveless tank but instead paired it with this reddish-burgundy top purchased from Marshalls or Ross. The bronze Pesaro sandals are a closet staple and are my go-to slip on-s when I don’t want to wear higher heels.
