Hello Friends and Happy Goodwill Wednesday!
I wore this end-of-the-season outfit in March, but with all the activity at the end of the month I didn’t get a chance to post it. This is officially the last of the winter wardrobe pics because today it’s going to be 70 degrees…time for a pedicure because the boots have been put away!
Everything was thrifted from Goodwill at different times and from different locations so it was fun putting it all together.
Even though I wore a short sleeve blouse, there was still a slight chill in the air so I opted to wear the brown suede jacket which was also thrifted.
Of the entire thrifted outfit, I like this unique thick belt the best, what do you think?
Remember how excited I was to finally find a pair of Riding Boots, and to find them new at Goodwill for only $18.99 was awesome. The hooks on the back gave them an edgier look which made it a better thrifted find.
Now it’s time to go through my closets and purge items that I did not wear last season or were much too tight thanks to menopausal weight gain or perhaps too much winter wine. Anywho, whatever I find will be re-donated back to Goodwill which is the best part of thrifting.
Today I’m linking up with one of my favorite thriftinistas over at ColorBlind and then I’ll swing by to see DC Goodwill Fashionista so if you get a chance, come on over and check out their thrifty finds.

Hello Friends and Happy Kwanzaa!
I trust you all had an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas and that you received everything you wanted.
Today is the first day of Kwanzaa and the first principle is Umoja or “Unity”. As you go about your day I ask that you spread a little kindness with a smile or a simple “how do you do”. This can make someone’s day brighter because we are all in this crazy mixed-up world together!
The last day of Kwanzaa is January 1st and if you have plans of going out for New Year’s Eve you’re probably in need of a new outfit.
As a stylist with the Goodwill 2014 Runway Show I’ve had the opportunity to pull together outfits for the various models. I’ve also pulled some dresses for the show that I think would be great for a New Year’s Eve event.
All of these dresses were under $20.00, most were only $5.00, so if you broke the bank at Christmas you can definitely save money for New Years.
Whether you’ll be dancing and prancing or just sitting and staring at others on the dance floor, you’ll look good doing it in a new dress or gown from Goodwill. Accessories such as new shoes, scarves, jewelry and handbags can also be found at your local Goodwill.
As you can see, several of these dresses and shoes are new with the tags still attached. There are definitely bargains to be found at Goodwill and you’ll be giving back and helping others in your community not only with your purchases but with your donations as well.
So what do you think, will it be a “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” or “Sex in the City” type of night?
Have a wonderful time and be safe!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!
Here we are again, the 1st Saturday of the month so you know where to find me – set up at Dutch Country Farmers Market in Middletown. I am still trying to purge household items, clothing, books, shoes anything I don’t need in order to make a few extra dollars and leave less to pack or donate when we decide to downsize.
As in most states you’ll find community yard sales, but did you know that the longest yard sale starts in North Addison, Michigan and goes through to Gadsen, Alabama? It is 690 miles long and people stake out their front yards along Hwy 127 for 4 days to sell new and used items!
According to the 127sale.com website, the yard sale officially starts the first Thursday in August and runs through to the following Sunday but this year it started on the 1st. People travel from the North, South, East and West some make it an annual event renting RV’s and camping out year after year. “An exchange of cultures with a common goal; to look, buy and sale!”
Can you imagine taking a week’s vacation to go to a Yard Sale? Oh well, I’ll just stick with my little space in the parking lot on the first Saturday of the month from April to November!
Flea Markets are fun because you never know what you’ll find!

Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and not having to cook gave me more time to be outside and enjoy it. Saturday I was set up at Dutch Country Farmer’s Market, and although there was a lot of foot traffic I didn’t do as well as expected. I did manage to sell a lot of books, some household items and a few pieces of jewelry, but the clothing that did not sell was donated to Goodwill. Hubby and the boys chose Chinese Takeout for dinner so it was Shrimp Fried Rice, Steamed Vegetables and Chicken Mei Fun.
Today we all worked outdoors, hubby and the sons on the lawn and cars, me with setting out the patio furniture and cushions before doing the weekly grocery shopping. I knew I wasn’t going to cook a Sunday dinner so instead we went to Farmer’s Famous Fish for sandwiches and fries.
It was another busy weekend for them with customers lining up and waiting from the time they opened to several hours after the published closing time of 3:30 p.m.

My outfit of the day was a maxi dress and cardigan which was perfect for today’s weather.
Have a fantabulous evening – Smooches!

Beyonce is Lending Her Voice for GOOD – WCAX.COM Local Vermont News, Weather and Sports-.
If you haven’t heard the news – “Lady B” aka Beyonce Knowles-Carter aka “Blue Ivy’s mommy” is lending her voice to help raise awareness about Goodwill’s mission of transforming lives through the power of work. “Goodwill helps people get back to work by providing education, job training and placement. I wanted to team up with an organization that puts people first and works every day to help them improve and re-establish their lives,” said Beyonce.
Beyonce is encouraging fans to support Goodwill by promoting donation drives at her North American concerts beginning on Friday, June 28, at the Staples Center in LA. There will be a mobile donation centers onsite at 28 tour venues in 24 North American cities, collecting clothing, electronics and small household goods. The monies received from the the sales will benefit Goodwill agencies in their work to help people with disabilities and disadvantages, and anyone facing challenges to finding employment.
As you know, my sister before her untimely death was employed by Goodwill which is why I am such a big supporter of them. I must admit that I am not a fan of Beyonce’s music but am definitely a fan of this endeavor.
