Dress for Less on NYE
Hello Friends and Happy Kwanzaa!
I trust you all had an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas and that you received everything you wanted.
Today is the first day of Kwanzaa and the first principle is Umoja or “Unity”. As you go about your day I ask that you spread a little kindness with a smile or a simple “how do you do”. This can make someone’s day brighter because we are all in this crazy mixed-up world together!
The last day of Kwanzaa is January 1st and if you have plans of going out for New Year’s Eve you’re probably in need of a new outfit.
As a stylist with the Goodwill 2014 Runway Show I’ve had the opportunity to pull together outfits for the various models. I’ve also pulled some dresses for the show that I think would be great for a New Year’s Eve event.
All of these dresses were under $20.00, most were only $5.00, so if you broke the bank at Christmas you can definitely save money for New Years.
Whether you’ll be dancing and prancing or just sitting and staring at others on the dance floor, you’ll look good doing it in a new dress or gown from Goodwill. Accessories such as new shoes, scarves, jewelry and handbags can also be found at your local Goodwill.
As you can see, several of these dresses and shoes are new with the tags still attached. There are definitely bargains to be found at Goodwill and you’ll be giving back and helping others in your community not only with your purchases but with your donations as well.
Fantastic finds! Many of the dresses are great not only for NYE but can definitely be dressed up and played down all year long. Love the shout out! Happy New Year’s!
Thank you – Happy New Year!!!
Happy Holidays my dear. Those are some super gorgeous dresses you found at Goodwill – perfect for New Years celebrations!
Yes, and they weren’t even the best of the bunch. I didn’t photograph all of the others. Hope you have a happy New Years!
Wow! You do find the goodies!!!
Thanks, these are the dresses that didn’t make the cut with the models….
These dresses are fab. Great choices for sure. Happy Holidays! I hope you have an amazing Kwanzaa and New Year. I think it’s going to be more of a breakfast at tiffanies type of night for me. I like keeping it more classic.
Thank you, I am usually in leggings and a tunic while watching The Twilight Zone marathon! Happy New Year, be safe and don’t hurt nobody!
I also wanted to say I’m loving the makeover on the Page. It’s absolutely FAB!
Thank you, looking to make more changes to stay tuned! Happy New Year.
You found some awesome deals! I never find goodies like that at my Goodwill. 🙂
Thank you, it does take time but I normally hit up 3 or 4 in the area. Check after the holidays and when the seasons change. Happy New Year.
This is a great post. I think it is empowering that you show women that used doesn’t mean ugly, damaged or gross. Many people give their slightly used clothes to the goodwill simply because they know they will no longer wear something, but often it is new or has only been used once. Looking our best doesn’t mean spending a lot of money, especially if you don’t have it!!
I really like some of the classical dresses that are strapless and black, if those were in a boutique I would expect to pay a lot!
Most definitely, there are still some who think thrifted means something bad, but I remind them that they donate and they are not bad items. I am spending my day cleaning closets for donations tomorrow. Happy New Year!
Happy Xmas stylish!!! xxx
Waaaw, these are really great deals !
Is there any online shops for international shoppers ?
No, Goodwill is a thrift shop but am sure you have something similiar. Happy New Year.
Looks like a lot of lovely dresses
Thank you, they are all hanging in my library waiting to be returned next month.
These are just gorgeous!!! You are amazing finding them! Happy, Happy New Year!
Thank you. Do you guys go out for NYE? I am home cooking and watching The Twilight Zone marathon!
Wow! Amazing dresses! My favs are LA Glo, Dress Barn, Ralph Lauren and Deb. What was your favorite?
The LA Glo was definitely my favorite – unfortunately it wasn’t my size! Happy New Year.
What a nice principle. Happy Kwanzaa! I love the dresses, especially the black one with the golden belt. Wish you a happy new year:)
Thank you – and Happy New Year to you as well.
