Top 5 Favorite Classic Christmas Movies
It’s a new week and a new topic so in keeping with the holiday theme and as an extension to Friday’s
5 Favorite Christmas Carols
these are my 5 Favorite Classic Christmas movies.
It’s a Wonderful Life
The story of George Bailey played by Jimmy Stewart wishing he had never been born is truly a timeless classic. However, when George meets Clarence the bumbling Angel trying to win his wings shows him what life would be like without him, there are some truly eye opening scenes.
And who can’t help but recite
“every time a bell rings an angel gets it’s wings.”
A Christmas Carol – the 1951 version
This version of the Charles Dickens’ timeless classic is my all time favorite one. Alastair Sim’s performance and his facial expressions as Scrooge are the best.
Christmas Story
This is definitely a “will not miss” movie classic especially since it’s on for 24 hours on TBS! I love Ralphie sexist attraction to that leg lamp which is now being sold at most major stores!
FRA’GILE
BTW – How many kids do you think put their tongue on a frozen pole to see if it actually stuck?
Miracle on 34th Street – 1947
Christmas and of course Santa is on trial but the holiday spirit wins everyone over. I love when the mail is delivered to the courthouse addressed to Santa. However, my favorite scene is the cane that sits in the middle of the empty room of Suzie’s new home
“I BELIEVE I BELIEVE!’
The Perfect Holiday
Morris Chestnut (need I say more) plays an aspiring musician working as a mall Santa. A young girl turns to this department store Santa in the hopes that he will help find a new husband for her divorced mother played by Gabrielle Union.
Honorable mention:
Charlie Brown Christmas
It wouldn’t be Christmas without this timeless classic and the song around the tree gets me every time!

7 Stocking Stuffers for Sons
Hello friends, the Christmas countdown is on and if you haven’t finished all of your shopping you still have a few more days, but you’ll need to hurry. I only picked up a few things for my sons because all they really wanted or needed was money. I did however, buy them a few stocking stuffers and if you need some last minute ideas, check these out.
Socks
Neither one of my sons like to wear bedroom slippers so ankle socks are great for wearing around the house. Also, because we don’t wear shoes in the house they are great to slip on when the temperature drops.
Body Wash/Deodorant
My sons have always liked using body washes as opposed to bar soaps, and as an Avon Rep I like to give them a few different scents. Deodorants and Anti-antiperspirants are also good choices because this is definitely one hygiene product that they should never be without!
Bath Sponges
Bath Sponges are much better to use in the shower with a liquid body wash. It seems as though bath sponges or loofahs have become more popular with men as opposed to a wash cloth, I know my husband loves them.
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
A toothbrush and toothpaste are traditional stocking stuffers and you can never have too many. This set comes in a plastic pouch which is great for travel or for keeping in a dorm room.
Candy Canes
Whether filled with M&Ms, Skittles or Sweet Tarts, these plastic canes are another stocking stuffer favorite.
Pez Dispenser
Just like watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Christmas Story”, Christmas morning wouldn’t be the same without a Pez Dispenser in a stocking.
What are some of your favorite stocking stuffers?

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
Can you believe that it was just a week ago today when we were preparing for New Year’s festivities and the week before that Christmas – are you serious – the holidays are over already?
As I sit writing this post the snow is falling with a vengeance for what is to be the first major snow storm of 2014, and it’s name is Hercules.
I changed the calendar, #2 son and hubby returned to school, I returned to work but it seemed too soon – the holidays are over! No more shopping, wrapping or singing Christmas Carols. I already miss the TV specials, Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s A Wonderful Life and the Twilight Zone Marathon…are you serious the holidays are over already?
