Hello Friends and Happy Saturday
Can you believe that today is the last day of Summer 2013 ~ What are you doing to usher in Autumn?
My plans include working outdoors, clearing the pool deck and getting it ready to be closed, trimming the hedges and clearing out my little tomato garden. I’m sad to see Summer end but am happy that we can turn off the air conditioner, open all the windows and enjoy the cooler days and nights of Autumn.
Dead head the rose bushes
mid-day summer sun
time to close the pool
clear out the tomato garden
I’ll miss the summer breeze but this classic by The Isley Brothers will always make me feel fine.
Have a fantastical weekend – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
Photography is an art that takes skill, patience and lots of practice. I truly admire and am inspired by the awesome photos some of you have taken. Being a novice and still learning the features of the Nikon P520 camera, I’ve been doing a lot of practicing.
My son and I had an appointment at the University of Delaware and while there we took these pictures at the Native Plant Teaching Garden.
According to the University of Delaware’s Cooperative Extension Program’s website – “Native Plant Teaching Garden: Designed to create an awareness of the cumulative environmental benefits that can be achieved through the use of native plants by providing an aesthetically pleasing demonstration garden easily adaptable to the home landscape. The garden consists of different niches, each planted with material appropriate for the site: a butterfly garden, bio-retention system (rain garden), meadow, foundation plantings, shrubs and paths, and perennial border.”
It was a beautiful day to be in The Teaching Garden and a great opportunity to get in a lot of practice.
With the change of seasons, I hope to get more outdoor shots including those dreaded snow days!
How do you think we did?
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay
Today’s “Friday Foodie Feature” is being preempted by these images which I captured this morning from my driveway.
As I sat in the car saying my “commuting prayer” I looked up to see a beautiful sun filled sky. I immediately stopped praying, grabbed the camera from the back seat and snapped three pictures. It was a few minutes past 8:00 am, and running late as usual I didn’t take time to review them. The sun was so bright while taking these pictures I couldn’t really see what I had shot.
Everyday when I get to work the first thing I do is read “Our Daily Bread” Devotion of the day. I hadn’t planned on viewing the pictures until later but when I saw the title of today’s devotion – THE GIFT OF LIGHT, I was filled with chills!
Now if you look at the pictures again you will notice red spots, strategic in their placement which may have come from the glare on the camera lens…
…but take a look at these cell phone pictures that I took last Saturday night as we crossed the Delaware Memorial Bridge a little after 8:00 p.m.
Are these my Guardian Angels?

Hello Friends and Happy Monday
I trust you all had a nice weekend and are now having a productive and stress-free day. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know we have a large Magnolia tree in the side yard that only produces one or two blossoms each year – this is what it looked like last year ( post )
This Magnolia tree was planted over 11 years ago, yet it has only produced 1 or 2 blooms but this year we got 4 – can you find them? The blossoms are so very fragrant but the leaves are a mess.
Worthington Top – JC Penney // Talbots Pants – GW Boutique
If it produced more blossoms the air would be filled with a beautiful southern scent.

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
For this post I asked a co-worker to take the pictures in order to give my sons a break. Sometimes they complain even though I provide them with food, shelter, water and lots of love!
As you know I work in West Chester, PA, and similar to the Marlton office it is surrounded by greenery which makes for a better background than my backyard.
This outfit was simple black and white, a classic combination.
Zebra Print on the shoes, tank and bracelets
Skirt was thrifted from GW Boutique
Comfy Zebra Print Wedges from Charlotte Russe (last season)

I hope you have a fantastical day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday
As per yesterday’s post here are a few more pictures from my day trip to Marlton. It’s was so lovely that is made the drive on the Jersey Turnpike bearable. Unfortunately I lost the sense of serenity when a rainstorm hit driving home!
Thankfully, I don’t have allergies
Not sure if these are Black Eye Susans
Inside the Atrium – does anyone know the name of this plant?
South entry
One of several Palm Trees – very tropical
Overlooking Pond
Reminds me of a Vacation Resort
View from the elevator overlooking the North Entrance

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
In my current job I no longer have much of an opportunity to travel and my daily commute from Middletown, DE to West Chester, PA can be quite boring. Yesterday I had the chance to make a site visit to Marlton, NJ, or as I like to call it, “Exit 4 on the Jersey Turnpike”. Not to say that driving straight away on the turnpike wasn’t boring because it was, what made it all worthwhile was the location itself.
The building is surrounded with a man made pond that has ducks, a fountain and beautiful flora. The Atrium is also serene and peaceful with tall palm trees, plants and flowers. I think coming into this building on a daily would put anyone in the right frame of mind no matter what the traffic was like in getting there. Here are just a few pictures of the outside, I will post the interior shots tomorrow.

There are tables and chairs if you want to sit outside to have lunch or just enjoy the view
