Hello friends and happy 1st Sunday in September which also happens to be my birthday month #Virgo. Today I attended Sunday service at Mt. Pisgah UAME. which is a small church that is less than a mile from my house. Because it was yet another hot and humid day, I chose to wear this sleeveless dress and a pair of open-toe sandals.
If you didn’t have an opportunity to watch the Kohl’s mini haul video, check it out below and tell me if you liked the skirts. The orange cross body bag was only $7.80 and it was the perfect size to carry to church.
By the way the Labor Day weekend holiday sale is still in effect, $10.00 off, $30.00 purchase plus Kohl’s Cash for every purchase over $50.00 and their clearance racks are packed. You can either download the electronic coupon at www.kohls.com or find a paper coupon in Sunday’s circulars.
This dress was purchased at Ross Dress for Less, which is another store that I love not having to pay full retail price for clothing and accessories.
I hope you all are enjoying this long weekend, that is if you are off from work and I wish you all a wonderful Labor Day tomorrow.
The white strappy heels were purchased last season from Rainbow Shops and the flats are this season’s purchase from Payless. You guys know I have a lot of shoes, and I have finally begun to purge some of them. I can’t believe that I only work 1/4 of my winter shoes – ridiculous!
The statement necklace is Walmart and bracelet from Old Navy.
So will it be the strappy white sandals or the blue flats for this outfit?
Thank you for the votes last week, the winner was:

If you are looking to update your Spring wardrobe but not looking to spend a lot of money, instead of buying more clothes, just purchase a few accessories. Adding awesome accessories to any outfit will make it look stylish and refreshed.
There are plenty of department stores with accessories which are very often on sale. Invest in scarves, earrings and necklaces to add more class and attractiveness to your vision. Here are just a few accessories you can use to update your wardrobe if you are on a budget.

About a quarter of your wardrobe budget should be spent on accessories. The more accessories you have the less clothes you will need to buy. You can wear your favourite clothes and match them using different jewelry for a new look.
You will spend less time matching an accessory than trying to find clothes that match together. There are many accessories which are universal and can be combined with almost every outfit. If you have accessories in yellow, green, silver and gold, you can be sure that they can be matched with almost every clothing you wear. These colours are universal and will be the best choice no matter what clothes you choose to wear.
To stand out with your own unique personal style try wearing various types of accessories. Otherwise you can get lost in the crowd of similar dressed women who are all wearing the same branded and trendy clothes. Your shoes, earrings and jewellery makes you stand out and be unique.

If you think your look is too plain you can just wrap a scarf around your neck and completely change your vision. You can use the scarf as a belt if you prefer, depending on the style of the clothes you wear. Bags and shoes can make your outfit look stylish and really change your appearance. You don’t have to follow the trend. It’s enough to choose accessories which look good on you and can be combined with many different clothes.

Choose expensive-looking accessories to make your clothing look better if you are on a tight budget. There are many pieces of jewellery which look pricey but aren’t expensive. Choose things which don’t look too fake. You can cross a small bag around your body and wear some earrings which focus the attention. Instead of buying gemstones which are very expensive you can wear semiprecious stones. Don’t buy fake imitation of precious stones because they look cheap. There a plenty of accessories you can use to make your everyday appearance more interesting and stylish.
Hello friends, the countdown to turkey day is on? Do you believe that I didn’t realize that Thanksgiving was this Thursday until just the other day. I kept thinking we had another week.
Anywho, here we are once again, a Sunday Stylin Roundup and in keeping with last week’s theme, today it’s Black N Bootie. I wore my booties with two different outfits both of which I love but of course the leopard prints are my favorites.
This vest was thrifted from Goodwill about 2 years ago, however, I’ve only worn it one other time. It is actually covering this Avon embroidered chambray shirt. The black suede booties are Unlisted purchased a couple of years ago from The Shoe Dept in the Exton Mall. Necklace is from Jewelrymax.net and bangles from Rugged Wearhouse. You know that these are my favorite pair of booties – who doesn’t love leopard?
In both outfits I am wearing closet staples, black slacks, skirt and turtleneck which personally are not my favorites but the weather called for it. I wore the leopard print scarf to break up all the black. This outfit actually received quite a few compliments from co-workers.
I am using my old camera which for some strange reason is not taking as good of pictures as it used to, oh well I guess I’ll start using the Coolpix L830, however, it uses 4-AA batteries and I hate when batteries start to drain. Next week, let me know if you notice a difference.
Enjoy the rest of the day and I hope you finished your grocery shopping…I haven’t even started mine yet!
I wanted to show you a dress that I had bought in early May at Ross Dress for Less. I originally had planned on wearing it at my son’s Graduation Party, but it was too see-through so I had to wear something else.
This however, would be perfect as a swimsuit cover-up, what do you think? I love the vibrant colors and embellishments in this gauze dress.
The orange sandals were a purchased from Charlotte Russe and are uber comfortable.
This tie-dye print can be worn with a variety of playful accessories.
This colorful, casual summer dress is perfect for weekend wear, when you are just hanging around the house, what do you think?
Yesterday hubby and I dropped Malik off at Bowie State University for a 3-day Freshmen Orientation, needless to say, I am now feeling a little blue. #seperationanxiety
Moms with little ones, please be patient and enjoy these crazy toddler times because soon and very soon, they too will be leaving the nest all too soon.
A few weeks ago hubby and I were supposed to attend a wedding, however, at the last minute I decided not to go…another moody blue day but this is what I was going to wear.
These gorgeous sandals were purchased from Payless and went perfectly with the dress, I would have looked ‘fly’ right?
This beaded evening purse has been in my closet since forever, as a matter of fact I took it to my High School prom!!
Finding this button in the purse reminding me that I started college in 1979 brought on more tears. Wow, my youngest is starting college in 2014, and me it was 35 years ago – my how time flies!
Okay, I am going to stop being depressed that my “baby bird” has left the nest, instead I will be glad and thankful to know that he is growing into manhood and pray that God watches over him.
This week’s thrifted outfit was worn on St. Patrick’s Day and it snowed! However, instead of complaining, I was glad as it was the perfect weather in which to wear a maxi skirt and riding boots because tomorrow is the first day of Spring!
Not wanting to hear my son complain about it being too cold, even though he is on the inside taking the pictures, I stayed indoors for these pics.
The riding boots were purchased at the Goodwill store in Exton, PA and are the most expensive item that I’ve ever thrifted. For me, they were still a bargain at $18.99 because they were new and tagged at $39.99, which is way under the $50, which I was prepared to spend this winter.
Both the faux suede maxi skirt and wrap top were thrifted for $3.75 each.

Ring | Payless // Bracelet | Michael’s
This week’s thrifted outfit was $26.49, but still a bargain, what do you think?
Now you know, I had to have at least one picture outdoors! I hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day and are enjoying this Hump Day Wednesday.
Can you feel it? Can you smell it? Can you hear it? Spring is right around the corner and the temps are rising, the air is clearer and the birds are chirping louder! Spring fever is definitely in full effect.
Last week I wore this totally thrifted outfit which was perfect for that in-between weather going from winter to spring.
With a little snow still on the ground, I opted to wear tights to keep my legs warm. I am anxiously looking forward to shedding them and breaking out the open toe shoes and then the sandals!
How cute are these ankle strap wedges, and the patent leather reminds me of my Easter shoes as a kid. Did you ever have a pair and they squeaked when you walked and you would shine them with vaseline?
In addition to the shoes and tote, these Goodwill goodies includes the skirt, top, belt, and blazer – an entire outfit for less than $20.00 ! #winning
Last weekend we finally got a break in the cold winter weather with temperatures rising above 50 degrees, it felt almost summer like after all that freezing snow. In celebration of the warm weekend I decided to wear this bright yellow twin-set sweater to church on Sunday – whew, that’s a mouthful!
I paired the thrifted sweater set with yet another thrifted find, a brown striped skirt.
These Romance Soles kitten heel pumps were another fantastic thrifted find and if you remember, I also got them in Navy Blue. This was the last post in which I wore them (click here).
The beaded necklace was a clearance purchase from Rugged Wearhouse for ($1.00) – #winning
This Rosetti purse was not thrifted, however, it was purchased from a Flea Market vendor in Florida for less than $20.00.
So what do you think about this week’s “I Got It @Goodwill” totally thrifted outfit (minus the accessories)?
Tonight is the night…is the night…is the night…for another major SNOWSTORM – gotta love it right – NOPE! I don’t think the Robin’s in our neighborhood believes it either because they have been flying around enjoying the sun-filled days. I truly feel in my heart of hearts that this will be the last big winter snow storm of the season, what do you think?
One good thing about this month is every Sunday all adult winter clothing is just $2.00 and children’s clothing only $1.00 at Goodwill stores in Delaware and Delaware County. Last Sunday I had to meet up with one of the Runway models, so I took advantage of the day to stock up on more sweaters, seems like I’ll get a chance to wear them all in this never ending cold winter weather.
This Merona from Target colorblock sweater wasn’t part of the sale because it was new with tags, but when I saw it I grabbed it. I knew it would compliment a skirt that was previously thrifted and each piece cost only $3.75. What do you think?
Yes, I am wearing peep-toe booties in the snow! They are attention brand by Kmart, purchased a few years ago and no my toes are not cold (Miss Terri).
I couldn’t pass up this $2.00 Elizabeth Arden tote because it was the perfect size to carry to work. It’s roomy enough to hold my camera case and lunch bag as well as anything else I might need for the day AND the color – perfectly matches the outfit!! #winning
I don’t know about you, but I simply love finding these thrifted treasures and each week I’ll feature a different sweater as long as the weather holds out so that might be until June!
Today, I’m linking up with 3 of my favorite thriftinistas, Whitney Nic James, ColorBlind and DC Goodwill Fashionista. If you haven’t checked out these ladies, may I suggest you do as they too feature some awesome thrifted finds.
