Give Me My Flowers While I'm Living
Give Me My Flowers While I’m Living
(click to listen)
In this world today while we’re living
Some folks say the worst of us they can
But when we are dead and in our caskets
They always slip some lilies in our hand
Won’t you give me my flowers while I’m living
And let me enjoy them while I can
Pleae don’t wait till I’m ready to be buried
And then slip some lilies in my hand
In this world is where we need our flowers
A kind word to help us get along
If you can’t give me flowers while I’m living
Then please don’t throw them when I’m gone

I agree I will take the flowers NOW please…great song. BTW…you are a real hoot! love it.
Thank you – glad you like the song, thought it was appropriate and hadn’t heard it before today – lol!
those flowers are so beautiful! I wish I could enjoy more of the outdoors but everything here is covered in pollen and my allergies have been soooo bad. like your outfit too!
I know what you mean, my youngest can’t handle the pollen and Delaware is notorious for it!
Totally agree! I’ve heard my Mom say that many many time growing up, that you should give people their flowers while they are living. Speaking of flowers, yours are beautiful!!! Your yard reminds me of mine growing up, my Mom always had the most beautiful flower gardens and she still dabbles a little. Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb. Mostly, everything I plant dies.
Thank you, my grandmother would say the same thing which is why I love flowers. You can’t go wrong planting a bulb unless you put it in upside down and they come up every year – try it this fall and see what you get next Spring. Thank you for your lovely comments!
