Saturday with the Seniors
Hello Friends and Welcome to the Weekend!
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and regardless of where you went, what you ate or what gift you received, you were able to spend quality time with people you love because that’s all that truly matters.
Last Saturday hubby and I spent most of the day with our son at Appoquinimink High School’s Wrestling Team’s Senior Day – now that’s a mouthful! Some of you may know that my son started wrestling after the Thanksgiving break and he finished the season with a 5-5 record due to a knee injury. Saturday was his last match, which he lost but all in all he enjoyed the experience and bonding with his teammates and the coaches.
Prior to the match, each soon-to-graduate Senior escorted their parents/guardians onto the gym floor and presented their mother with a rose.
Malik enjoyed wrestling this season and regretted that he didn’t join the team during his earlier years of High School.
Wrestling at 170 lbs, this was his last match and you can see the disappointment on his face after the disappointing loss.
But like the good athlete he is, it only lasted a few minutes and after talking to his dad, he was back enjoying the rest of the matches with his teammates.
It was a great day and watching the team knowing that it’s the end of the season was more bittersweet for me than for him.
Mom being silly unbeknownst to hubby or son!
I ended the afternoon getting a new camera bag from Cameras Etc. in Newark.
Did you share love and laughter last weekend?
Don’t forget to share a post at this weekend’s #WWDParty
Stay Blessed ~ No Stress in 2014!
I can’t wait until my son is old enough for organized sports. I can’t get over how handsome your husband and son are. They’re spitting images of one another. You are one lucky woman!
Thank you my dear, it’s just a matter of time and you’ll be spending more time on the field than off! Happy Weekend.
Love the title! 🙂 lol and love the pics proud mama 🙂
Thank you – you thought I was talking about us, the elderly right – lol
Even though you son didn’t win, it’s great to see him and his team in good spirit!
Yes, he was more disappointed than anyone, I was very proud of him and loved how he interacted with his teammates and coaches. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Oh you must have been so proud. Senior Night was always so special not only for the graduating seniors but for the parents. I still remember my senior night. It was great. I’m sorry to hear about his knee injury but I’m glad you had a great night.
Thank you, considering he had no prior training or experience I think he did a good job. I still can’t believe my “baby” will be graduating in May, probably how your mother felt. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday night.
L9vely family.
Oh, and cute son ! !
Thank you but I won’t tell him that – lol
Great post. And Im in awe of your husbands hat! So cool.
Thank you, that is his favorite winter hat.
Thank you
Oh I thought you meant oldersters……laughing!
I know…fooled ya!
I also thought you meant OAPs! Ha.
I’m glad he enjoyed being part of it all. It’s something that baffles me so much because I can’t think of anything worse than wrestling/boxing/rugby!

I know right…I knew people would think of us ole folks – lol. I was surprised how much he enjoyed it and glad you had an opportunity to play organized sports even if it was during his last year. Have a wonderful week!
