Last month I received a wonderful gift-from-the-heart from a fellow blogger who will remain nameless, but it gave me an opportunity to “pay it forward”. Sharing your blessings not only makes you feel good but it can also make you look good too!
Both and top and corduroy skirt were thrifted from Goodwill
Textured tights | Walmart
Whenever you get a chance, pay it forward my friends and you’ll stay blessed!
Thrifting and Shoes are my two favorite things – what are yours?Come on over to Katherine’s Corner and share at today’s Favorite Things Hop!
I trust your week is going well and all is good in your neighborhood! When I decided to wear this maxi skirt the first thing I noticed was how beautifully the colors transitioned from Summer to Fall.
Although there is still plenty of snow left on the ground or at least on my back deck, the winds were mild enough so my legs didn’t get too cold. The longer sweater and booties also kept me warm so perhaps this skirt will make another appearance during a winter month (with tights and over-the-knee boots).
This sweater was actually a Christmas gift that my hubby gave to my grandmother over 10 years ago. I’ve always loved the color and the length as well as the crocheted cowl neck collar.
The beige booties were purchased a few seasons ago at Rugged Wearhouse and are quite comfortable, more so than the brown ones that I gave away last week on Instagram. If you don’t follow, you should because I will be giving away more in the near future. #payitforward
Here I tried to re-create the #myessence photo, so what do you think, which season did I wear it better?
I know you are busy but if you get a chance hop over to Alison’s blog and “Get Your Pretty On!” this wonderful Wednesday.
Have a blessed day and don’t forget to share it – Smooches!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are up and at ’em for a terrific week ahead. I’m usually up at 6:00 a.m. but never home before 6:00 p.m, which is why I can catch a weekday sunrise but not a sunset. However, thanks to last week’s snow storm, I was able to catch them both from my back deck.
Behind me and to my left the sun is rising but in order to get a good shot and not one of me squinting, I had to step forward a bit.
Now with the holidays approaching I begin to think and miss my sister and grandmother even more. I have a hat box full of jewelry including brooches and pins that once belonged to them so I decided to wear two of them together in their honor.
These Route 66 knee high suede boots were purchased several years ago at Kmart. I keep them dry and clean by spraying them with a rain&stain guard protector from Payless.
Which do you prefer, a sunrise or a sunset?
Remember the song, “These boots were made for walking” by Nancy Sinatra? You may be too young and if you are, here it is on YouTube.
Last week before this burst of Wintery weather I was wearing scarves and wraps because I don’t particularly like wearing coats, especially while driving.
Wrap – Burlington Coat Factory | Skirt and Polka Dot Top – thrifted from GW Boutique | Shoes – thrifted from The Salvation Army
Wraps and scarves are easy breezy to put on and take off and were perfect for the late Autumn weather.
But now that the snow has arrived with a vengence, I guess it’s time to break out the full winter gear…the hats, coats, scarves AND gloves…
but then again…maybe not!
Have you pulled out your winter gear?
Linking up today with my girl Whitney for Personal Style Wednesday – come on over and check out her “Thriftmas List”
Do you have an article of clothing that has sentimental value and you know that you’ll never ever get rid of it? Well that’s exactly how I feel about this scarf that once belonged to my sister, Gloria. I don’t particularly like wearing coats and jackets so this large wrap scarf is perfect for the Fall weather and I know it’ll be part of my wardrobe forever!
Made of 100% Viscose in India reminded my best friend of a Magic Carpet but no matter what it will always be my Favorite Fall Scarf!
What is your favorite article of clothing that has high sentimental value?
I was recently featured on the website “Fabulous After 40”, and chosen as “Glam Gal of the Week”, (click the link to read in case you missed it.)
I was also selected along with two other ladies who we weren’t afraid to wear the color red after the age of 40. The red sheath dress that I was wearing was received from eShakti as a product review. Sheath dresses are my favorite styles and even with the the change in weather they will remain forefront in my closet.
In today’s outfit I am wearing a color blocked sleeveless sheath dress from Avon. I gave the outfit an edgier look with the pleather jacket thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill), studded booties and stud and spike accessories.
Remember when I purchased this Spike Necklace/Earring Set on my birthday at Rugged Wearhouse for a $1.00 on clearance?
Today is Columbus Day so most schools and Federal offices are closed, unfortunately I am no longer in school nor do I work for the Federal Government so I had to go to work. Fortunately, without the school buses and heavy traffic the drive in wasn’t too bad, but I’m sure it won’t be the same heading home.
Oh well, at least it’s not raining – Happy Blue Monday!
Last night before the season’s premier of The Walking Dead I was able to press out a lot of clothes including my outfits for the week. Today’s Dressing for Less outfit is dedicated to The Walking Dead because I feel like a zombie after staying up to watch The Talking Dead, then 2 episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
In case you are wondering…I slept like a baby because horror doesn’t bother me which is why October if my favorite month for television watching, especially Halloween night. My all time favorite horror movie is the original 1968, black and white version of Night of the Living Dead…a classic…”Barbara, they are coming to get you!”
Are you a fan(atic) of The Walking Dead if so, what did think of last night’s premier – too much too soon? Why did they have to kill off Greg from #EverybodyHatesChris ? Yuck, he coughed that virus into the communal water basin..uh oh! Twitter was blowing up last night with all kinds of theories, this is going to be a roller coaster season!
These shoes definitely don’t have me walking like a Zombie! If you are looking for fashionable yet comfortable pumps – contact your Avon Rep or check out my Avon website because these shoes are SUPER COMFORTABLE!
Purse is also Avon (mark)
Sleeveless Shift dress was thrifted from Goodwill and George Sweater fromWalmart.
