Veteran’s Day 2013
Hello Friends and Happy Veteran’s Day
I trust you all had a wonderful weekend and if you are off today honoring a Vet I do hope that you are enjoying the day, unfortunately for me I have to work.
The month is already flying by, can you believe that we have less than 18 days until it’s Thanksgiving 2013?
This is what I wore on the first casual Friday of the month which was by far the best beginning to November that I can remember. After an early morning mini downpour, the temps rose to 78 degrees with bright sunshine, it was almost summer like.
Do you remember this pink suede jacket that I thrifted last year from GW Boutique? The sleeveless tank was thrifted earlier in the year also at Goodwill.
I found these “pink bottom” loafers at Rugged Wearhouse – aren’t they cute?
Have you started planning your Turkey Day meal or will you be eating at a relative’s home instead?
We haven’t made any plans and I am not looking forward to asking hubby because it will be the first one without his mother….maybe we’ll just stay home and have a quiet dinner.
Thank You Vets for all you have done for this country – Stay Blessed!
You look Great in the pink and those loafers are just too cute.
Thanks, I feel head over heels in love when I saw them and so cheap too – I love Rugged Wearhouse!
Those loafers make the outfit! So unique with their pink soles. Great look Antoinette 🙂
Thank you my dear…I can afford “pink bottoms”…”red bottoms” NEVER!
Cute outfit and I’m making cookies for Thanksgiving – going out for the rest.
Gurl, you better make more than cookies for those grands! Thanks and I hope you had a great Monday.
I love the color palate you have there – with the nails and the blazer – a great color combination on you and also wonderful for fall. I can’t believe thanksgiving is almost here! Hubby and I are hosting at our house, which is on the smaller side, but I love having people over. I complained about eating the same boring stuff so this year we’re making Vietnamese sandwiches, cheese cookies, grit souffle *we ARE in the south*, crack pie, deviled eggs, and pumpkin pie. Can’t wait to have everyone over and even my mom will be back from Rwanda and staying with us! I hope you and hubby have a good thanksgiving too, Antionette. Whether quiet or busy, I’m sure it will be nice to just be with family or friends. xo
Thank you my dear, but I have one questions, can I come to your house….I promise not to take up too much room but I won’t promise not to eat you out of house and home!!! That is so nice to have your mom travel in from Rwanda – how long will she be staying?
How do you make Vietnamese Sandwiches and what the heck is Crack Pie? I miss not having a large family and I don’t think hubby wants to drive down to Virginia Beach to my cousin’s house, but like you said, whether it’s busy or quiet it will be nice because we are blessed!! Now send me those recipes.
Come on over! LOL – we love guests! My mom is going to be living with us since she is technically unemployed. When she figures out her living situation, she’ll move on. Vietnamese sandwiches are baguettes with pork, liver pate, picked carrots and radish, cilantro, mayo, and maybe something else? they’re good. http://www.vietworldkitchen.com/blog/2009/06/banh-mi-sandwich-recipe.html

If I show up at your door step with a take home container I don’t want to hear nothing!!!
Love the flag, and obviously those hot pink & black smocking slippers are WAAAY over the top towards perfection!
Aren’t they though – I love them and didn’t realize they had pink bottoms until I got home – silly me! Have a great night.
Unfortunately I had to spend my Veterans Day at work too. 🙁
Oh well, at least traffic was lighter this morning, how about for you? Hope your day was productive.
Love your shoes! AND your nail polish!
Thank you my dear. I hope you had a nice Monday.
Very cute outfit! I love to shop at thrift stores. It’s become quite a habit..lol! 🙂 Great blog you have, and thanks for visiting mine as well. =)
Yes, thrifting is addictive because it’s such an adventure – you never know what you will find. Thank you and I like your blog as well. Have a wonderful week!
Pretty in pink! The loafers and the mani are fabulous.
We order a full T-day meal from our Sprouts Organic Farmer’s Market…just warm it up! it’s the lazy way to cook for the holidays 😉
Thank you. Yes, I think we will order a dinner from the market as well even though I enjoy cooking and sipping wine… Have a wonderful week.
